My school is much less organized when it comes to money issues, at least from what I can tell. I've heard some horror stories. Lately, my monthly paycheck has been shorted. Two months ago, it was shorted for about $550, and this month it was shorted another $320. You have to be careful to check your account and make sure you're getting as much as you should be. A year ago Korea passed a tax law that taxes foreigners more money. Not that it matters, you get all the money back after you finish your contract, but it's quite striking to be coming home from an expensive birthday and see might not have enough money to buy food the next month. It wasn't that bad, but it could have been. They took more tax money out of my paycheck to follow the new tax increase, I just wish I had had a warning somehow! Even yet, this month I was shorted for additional health expenses since I made more than average last year. Lame! Oh Korea...
